My very first post. It should be great, shouldn't it? It should include fancy words, and demonstrate a lot of expertise. But, it just isn't me. I prefer to keep things casual in my life. So why not extend that to a blog?
Who am I?
I am a mom of 2 incredible boys and a wife to great husband. I try not play up the "fluff" part of the blog with boring stuff. I want to write about what appeals to me....and that is laughter. I like to think at times I can be funny. The sillier, the better. I think many people take themselves way too seriously, and I guess I go against the grain a little bit, in that respect. I try to find the humor in the little things. Many times it is through my kids (I know I am not alone on this one), my observations, or things that happen in day to day life.
I am a stay at home mom, and I am active in my kids' education. I enjoy volunteering for things through school, and helping out in any way.
I used to be an elementary teacher and hung up my ruler (see, humor) years ago just before the birth of my first child. I missed it terribly (being a teacher), but am hoping that blogging will provide some much needed personal expressiveness and inspiration.
I hate cooking, but love to bake. I may occasionally post a recipe (don't get too excited-probably won't happy too much) if I feel like I successfully cooked something for me or my family; like my own personal victory. I am not a great cook overall, and feel very uninspired when I cook (which I suppose is directly correlated to my bad cooking). I will not profess to be the best of ANYTHING in this blog. It is not who I am. It is not how I go through life. I know it can always be done better. But I like to share what I enjoy doing.
And what do I enjoy doing? Photography first and forest most. I don't know why it took me so long to break down and finally ask for a DSLR for my birthday. It has changed my life. I see a lot of beauty in our day to day life, the simple things, and ......
please excuse the interruption, but my 4 year old is needing some much redirection because he was throwing a ball against our windows. Break in thought. Interruptions. It will dictate this blog unfortunately. But please bear with me if you enjoy sharing in the nonsense of my life, and could use a good laugh or two to make you smile!
